The Game
WHAT IS FLAG FOOTBALL?

Flag football is a non-contact version of American football where instead of tackling, defenders must pull a flag from the ball carrier's belt to end a play. All the strategy, speed, and excitement of the NFL — without the pads.

The sport is fast-growing globally and set to debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics as an official event — making this the best time ever to get into flag football.

In Jakarta, we play 5v5 and 8v8 formats on turf fields, with organized league play, named tournaments, and open scrimmages available for all levels — including women's and youth programs.

EARLY DAYS
The Community Begins
A small group of flag football enthusiasts starts gathering in Jakarta for Saturday morning games and Wednesday night scrimmages — open to all nationalities and skill levels.
2021
Post-COVID Return & Mini League
After the pandemic pause, JFF returns with the first Jakarta Flag Football Mini League at Aldiron Soccer Field in Pancoran. CFT Jakarta vs Eagles Jakarta opens the tournament era, marking the start of formal organized competition.
2022–23
League Expansion & Women's Division
The community grows rapidly. More teams form, tournaments multiply, and the women's division expands under WFF Jakarta. Named tournaments become regular fixtures, and the ecosystem starts producing national-level talent.
2024–25
Biggest Flag Football Community in Jakarta
JFF reaches 7,800+ Instagram followers with dozens of active teams across men's, women's, and youth divisions. Tournaments including Merdeka Bowl draw competitors from across Indonesia. This Stats Hub launches to document it all.
2028
The Olympic Goal 🥇
With flag football joining the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, JFF players and alumni have the chance to represent Indonesia on the biggest stage in sports. The road to LA28 starts here — on Saturday mornings in Jakarta.
